About the Client

St. Andrew Parish is a Roman Catholic Church located in Westwood, NJ. The congregation traces its beginnings all the way back to the 19th Century. St. Andrew’s falls under the Archdiocese of Newark, and proudly serves Roman Catholics in the Westwood NJ, River Vale NJ, Washington Township NJ, and other surrounding New Jersey areas. The present building was dedicated by Archbishop Theodore E. McCarrick, which includes not only the chapel but administrative offices, classrooms for religious education and a gymnasium.

The Challenge

As many Houses of Worships, St. Andrew’s faced much difficulty connecting with members of their congregation during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Not being able to connect with their members face to face was truly difficult. The initial task for CSAV Systems was to create a custom package that would support the Catholic Church’s day-to-day operations, while also designing AV support that would broadcast Mass Services to members of the parish in a virtual manner.

The Solution

CSAV Systems provided sound and video systems for St. Andrews, including custom monitors, remote control digital panels, wall-mounted cameras, a wireless presentation system and video camera system. CSAV designed, implemented, and integrated audio/visual systems throughout the Church’s sanctuary.

Two LED display monitors were installed in the sanctuary, allowing members to see important information such as song lyrics, videos, or congregation information. Along with the monitors, a wireless presentation system was installed along with a custom remote control.

This allowed staff to control what is displayed on the monitors through any device at any given time. In the sanctuary, there was a live streaming system installed, as well. This system included a video camera system, camera wall mount and a custom remote-control joystick.
