The Challenge

Oakcrest High School offers a TV studio class that operates across two dedicated rooms where students actively participate in production. Our client explained that, in the past, students had to shout from the news studio to the production room to communicate, leading to frequent confusion and miscommunication. To address this, the client requested a user-friendly, professional A/V system to streamline communication and improve overall workflow.

The ultimate goal for CSAV Systems was to custom-design a complete AV system that students could fully operate. The aim was to replicate a professional news production studio, giving students a taste of real-world experience. Our team implemented user-friendly solutions that also encouraged students to learn and challenge themselves. Through this setup, students can explore and understand the various roles involved in producing a news broadcast.

The Solution

To make the classroom as realistic and immersive as possible, our team strategically integrated a range of audiovisual (AV) systems and tools.

  • Professional-grade teleprompters were installed to simulate live broadcasting scenarios, enabling students to practice delivering lines naturally while maintaining eye contact with the camera. This fosters confidence and prepares them more effectively than reading from paper scripts.
  • High-quality microphones were deployed to ensure clear audio capture, and a variety of cameras were positioned to offer multiple angles and perspectives, mirroring a real production environment.
  • Multiview display systems were included to support live monitoring and directing, allowing operators and students to view multiple video feeds simultaneously.
  • Audio mixing equipment was incorporated to give students hands-on experience with sound balancing and control—essential skills in any AV production.

The space was equipped for both streaming and recording, enabling sessions to be broadcast live or reviewed later.

  • Postproduction tools were also integrated, allowing students to edit and refine their projects in-house.

Collectively, these technologies transformed the classroom into a fully functional media production studio, offering students a realistic and professionally relevant learning environment.
