Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s HOPE Tower is a healthcare facility specializing in psychiatry. The building is a multipurpose medical building with spaces for programs and research services, counseling, radiation therapy, an Amphitheater, conference rooms, a simulation lab, and much more. HOPE Tower’s goal is to provide a healing outpatient environment and experience.

HOPE Tower is a 10-story, 300,000-square-foot building that does it all. Installing AV solutions can benefit medical facilities by enhancing communication, patient care, and overall operational efficiency. The audiovisual systems must be well thought out, as each floor contains different requests.
“With every floor and every room in the tower came a different set of challenges regarding the audiovisual services they needed,” said CSAV President Glen J. Dalakian. Knowing that this building would save lives in the future gave our team that extra determination to figure out the logistics of the project.
CSAV Systems provided sound and video systems throughout the tower and its floors. Installing technology such as paging systems, background music, conference room AV, and more completely transformed the tower.
CSAV Systems partnered with Polycom for video conferencing, WePresent for wireless interface, and Qomo for interactive displays. Our team also used Crestron control, Axis cameras in the Sim-Lab, Laerdal Sim-View servers, and Audio Technica Mics for recording.
The addition of an Amphitheater helped healthcare staff be able to present and learn about the medical field and new research. CSAV installed a 193″ projection Diagonal HD screen to accommodate the size of the vast room.
The custom-designed sound system in the Amphitheater was augmented with an assisted hearing technology consisting of copper wire along the entire floor under the carpet. With the copper wire and assisted hearing system in place, a magnetic field is created for Hearing Aids with a Tele-coil. This allows anyone to hear clearly from anywhere in the theater.
Installing a video wall greatly improved the atmosphere of HOPE Tower. For such an immense building with thousands of guests, patients, medical staff, and other healthcare personnel coming and going, it was essential to have an immediate eye-catcher.

A simulation lab is designed to provide an immersive learning experience for healthcare practitioners and students. The next generation of healthcare leaders will learn and practice in sim labs.
